Towards the end of the 1940s, SACMI began to build presses for manufacturing tiles and with them the first moulds. These “basic mechanical components” soon proved to have a key role in forming.
Ceramic companies were obliged to adopt organisation with internal workshops, but generally turned very soon to specialist “mould manufacturers”, outside of the company.
It was the 1960s, and in the site at Via Bottego work was also getting underway for the company that since 2001 has been known as Sacmi Molds & Dies and that boasts ISO 9001 certification.
If, in the meantime, thousands of presses have exited the production line of the parent company, tens of thousand of moulds, punches and other parts have been manufactured at the workshop in Sassuolo, which has occupied an area of more than 20,000 m² in the complex on Via Emilia Romagna since the 1990s.
Fifty years of activity in the ceramic district have been characterised by constant development resulting from stable relationships with clients and enduring synergies with SACMI IMOLA, positioning SACMI MOLDS & DIES at the cutting edge in the ceramic forming sector.
Being an undisputed world leader clearly doesn’t depend on production volumes alone, however considerable they may be, but on a wealth of continuous experience characterised by ongoing commitment to technical research and assistance structures capable of reaching all clients.
Thanks to the sophisticated mechanical culture of Sacmi Imola, which in every project has always concretely expressed the various possibilities of interaction between press and mould, Sacmi Molds & Dies has been able to grant patents. These technical achievements would not mean success if they had not been translated into concrete benefits passed on to an ever growing number of users. It is precisely SACMI MOLDS & DIES’ focus on the needs of clients that led to its recent and increasingly energetic international expansion. It has opened its fifth site abroad, in Iran, after its consolidated experience in the United States, Indonesia, Mexico and Egypt. Some foreign sites are already in the pipeline to meet the needs of our clients. However, we have no intention that any new site should fail to deliver a profound, productive connection with the parent company in Sassuolo, a historic patrimony and constant point of reference, as well as a hub for collaboration and development
